Dr Irene Zinonos


SACE 2 Teacher


Irene has been the principal of Port Adelaide Greek school for the last 3 years. She was born and raised in Cyprus and is a native speaker of the Greek Language. She has been teaching at ethnic schools, including Port Adelaide Greek School, since 2007, and has been a SACE teacher for the last 6 years.

"This experience has been the most liberating and rewarding of my life as I love being in the classroom, creating fun and engaging learning environments for my students. More importantly, teaching the Greek language and culture has given me the opportunity to be part of a wonderful community where I have created strong and meaningful relationships with all our students and their families. I endeavour to build on the amazing work of our previous principals and teachers by continuing to positively influence our young people’s characters and install in their hearts the love and pride for our fascinating culture, language and traditions".

Ms Antonia Papazaharoudakis


Reception Teacher


Antonia has been a teacher at Port Adelaide Greek School for over 6 years. She has been the Deputy Principal of the school for 3 years. Antonia completed her Bachelor Degree in Education (Primary/Middle) in 2016 at the University of South Australia which has provided her with exceptional knowledge in helping students to reach their full potential. Antonia attended Port Adelaide Greek School as a student for 7 years where she completed her primary school education.

“I love being involved with the Port Adelaide Greek Orthodox Community. They have held a special place in my life since I was born. I am a passionate educator and aim to create learning environments for students where they feel safe, nurtured and have opportunities to learn in engaging ways. It is so exciting to be able to come back to the school as a teacher and build positive relationships with students, parents and the wider school community. My aim as an educator at PAGS is to ensure all students can recognise the connections between their Greek culture and language to their everyday life.”

Ms Haralambia Zinonos

Year 1 & Year 7/8 Teacher


Hara is a teacher with a postgraduate degree and a masters degree in educational science. She completed her studies at the University of Cyprus. 2021 will be her fourth year working at Port Adelaide Greek School.

"I have thoroughly enjoy being part of this amazing team of educators and I consider myself a member of the Greek Orthodox community of Port Adelaide. My outmost aim is to help the children connect with their Greek background and culture and improve their skills in the Greek language".

Ms Rita Rossidis

Year 2 Teacher


Rita lived in Greece for 17 years before coming back to Adelaide with her family in 2011. She started working at Port Adelaide Greek School in 2020 and is very excited to be part of the teaching team and the community.

Ms Evgenia Rossidis

Year 3 Teacher


Evgenia was born in Greece and migrated to Adelaide in 2011 with her family. She started working at Port Adelaide Greek School in 2020 as an SSO and volunteer.

"I am very honoured to be part of the Port Adelaide Greek School teaching team in 2021. Teaching the Greek language is my passion as it is part of who I am and gives me the opportunity to keep the Greek culture alive for the future generations".

Mr George Prodromou

Year 4/5, SACE 1 Teacher


George was born and raised in Cyprus. Along with his wife and son, he decided to relocate to Australia in 2017. George holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Cyprus. He has worked at several schools in Adelaide as a teacher’s assistant and as a teacher. george has been teaching at Port Adelaide Greek school for two years, teaching primary and high school classes, including SACE stage 1.

"I am proud of being part of this fantastic school where everybody (committee, parents, and teachers) works together and endeavours to accommodate students and provide the best possible learning environment. At our school, students have the opportunity to acquire knowledge regarding the Greek language in conjunction with Greek customs and traditions".
